I have tried disabling Tamper protection, and have turned off Real-time protection as well as Cloud delivered protection. I do want to however, but cannot as long as Defender is running.ĭefender then eats up a large quantity of RAM. IObit is not a problem here at present, as I don't have the continuous monitoring enabled on it. Thankfully Trend Micro still runs, but having two solutions run at the same time is not a good situation.
Microsoft Defender still runs, and I cannot select Trend Micro as the primary AV, nor is Windows security recognizing Trend Micro's web protection. My post will explain what the issue really is though.
NOTE: I had to choose a series of topics, and beyond Defender, none of them are even remotely close. I have Trend Micro and IObit malware defender installed.
PC-cillin 2003 was the last stand-alone antivirus product offered by Trend Micro until 2007, when the company released a standalone anti-malware product that offered protection from malicious software including viruses, spyware, and adware.Microsoft Defender, I suspect after a minor Windows update, turned off Trend Micro Antivirus. Newer versions of Trend Micro Internet Security offer additional features such as spyware protection, antispam and an integrated firewall along with an improved scanning and virus detection engine and enhanced heuristics. PC-cillin 20 were stand-alone virus scanners which also included a firewall component and improved on the software’s scanning and virus detection engine. PC-cillin 2000 and earlier versions were virus scanners without any additional features.
A patch was later issued to close the issue.
